One food truck, 150 Kogan staff, one very good lunch

Nobody ever wrote a glowing exit interview about a sad sandwich platter.

So when Kogan wanted to feed 150 of the team across a staggered lunch break at their Port Melbourne office, we skipped the platters. We parked the Toasta truck in the car park, fired up the grill and got on with it.

Office catering Melbourne that comes to you

The beauty of a food truck is that the kitchen comes with it. We rolled in self sufficient, set up in the car park and served straight from the window. Nobody organised a thing.

A staggered lunch break could have meant a stop start service. Instead, people came down as their break began and the line moved in a steady stream. The car park became the canteen.

Lunch worth leaving your desk for

Everyone got a toastie, a serve of triple cooked chips and a house lime and mint soda, all part of our Toasta Party Package. Every toastie is served on Zeally Bay sourdough, with gluten free available. Here’s what was on the board:

You have to keep your employees happy, and that’s what we do.

Happy staff are good business

A truck in the car park, a hot toastie in one hand and a house soda in the other: it added such a vibe to the workplace. Everyone was stoked.

It’s not just a feeling, either. Economists at the University of Warwick ran experiments with more than 700 people and found that those made happier were around 12% more productive. And researchers at Cornell University found that fire crews who ate together more often were rated higher on team performance by their supervisors. That was firefighters, not office workers, but it’s the same human instinct: break bread together and the team gets better.

How it works

  1. 1Tell us your date, headcount and break times.
  2. 2We plan the service around your schedule, staggered or not.
  3. 3The truck arrives self sufficient, sets up and grills to order.
  4. 4We clean up and leave the car park as we found it.

Questions we get about office catering

Can a food truck cater an office lunch?

Yes. We park in your car park or on your site, serve from the truck and clean up after ourselves, so there’s no kitchen to organise.

Can you cater a staggered lunch break?

Yes. For Kogan we served 150 people as their breaks came around, grilling every toastie to order so there was always something hot at the window. Tell us your break times and headcount and we’ll plan the service around them.

How many people can you feed?

As many as your day needs. We fed 150 Kogan staff over a staggered lunch break, 240 lululemon guests in 90 minutes, and with two trucks we fed 600 guests in 90 minutes at the Melton City Council Star Awards.

Can you create a custom menu for our event?

Yes. Tell us your theme, your crowd and any dietaries, and we’ll come up with something just for your event.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes: gluten free, halal, vegan, lactose free and more. Tell us what your team needs when you enquire.

Do you cater outside Melbourne?

Yes. We cater across Melbourne and right across Victoria, including Ballarat, Bendigo, Daylesford, the Mornington Peninsula, Geelong and the Surf Coast.
